The Joy of Playin
Charcoal and pastel on paper

Ted is one of the greatest musicians/guitarists to ever come out of my home town. While posing for this picture he talked about his life, music, teachers/mentors and life on the road all while improvising on a 12 bar blues melody. The playing became an additional voice, a melodic storyteller and a passionate testimony to a life dedicated to music and artistry. It was truly a magical session and I am honored to have captured the moment.
