When given the option of what direction to go in for the show, I immediately thought “Hero”. When I think of a hero, it is not a character in a movie that saves the world, but your everyday person on the street who is willing to go out of their way to better a person’s life or sometimes even risk their own life for another. I have always had a huge place in my heart for the armed forces and have even considered it an option for my life in the past. I have the utmost respect and love for all those who have fought, are still fighting, and have sacrificed so much to make our country what it is.
“Sea of Love” is telling a simple, yet deep story about my late Grandfather and his time served in the U.S. Navy. The items are all original and speak for themselves. After a long day of work, he puts all of the most important things to him on his night stand, especially the letters from my Grandmother. Not only was he serving his country but he was also away from his loved ones. Like many others who have chosen that path, it takes a very strong, passionate, and loving human being - which is exactly how I remember my Poppy – A Hero.
